Our Story
OUR STORY
Noah and Marissa first crossed paths in the summer of 2021. At the time, Noah was living in Bloomington and working in Spencer, Indiana, after landing his first post-graduate job there. With the job market still reeling from the 2020 pandemic, opportunities were limited, so Spencer—just a short drive from Bloomington—became Noah’s unexpected home base. Anyone who knows Noah understands his unwavering loyalty to Purdue, so landing a job and settling in IU territory was far from part of the plan. Meanwhile, Marissa was enjoying a brief break before her final semester of nursing school. She had moved back in with her parents and began working in the ICU at IU Health Bloomington that summer. Though neither of them envisioned living in Bloomington, it was here that they met and decided to go on their first date.
Their first date was at a cozy Mexican restaurant, Vivas Mas, in downtown Bloomington, and it didn’t take long for them to hit it off. As the saying goes, "the rest was history."
FUN FACTS:
When Noah and Marissa first began dating, Noah invited Marissa—and her dog, Princess—over for dinner at his apartment. He kindly told Marissa that Princess was, of course, welcome, but requested that she stay off the furniture. However, as you'll see in the picture, Princess had other plans and made herself quite at home on the furniture that very night...
Princess and Marissa were a package deal, and Noah had no problem with that. In fact, about six months into their relationship, the couple decided that Princess could use a companion, so they adopted a puppy. Enter Louie Bob, who instantly became the perfect little brother. As you browse through the photos, you'll spot one of the first pictures of Louie. And, of course, he’s on the furniture—by this point, that rule had long been forgotten.
